War Children

We are war children
The helpless lost generation
Of bloody hands and palms
Lulling ourselves to sleep using Psalms

The flood and the onslaught
Has cost more today
Than the wives and the children torn away
Men and women with weapons
Sold enslaved

So what's your pay
Towards the swords and graves
That linger in foreign lands
Parts thrown astray
Cancer burning the glass ashtray

It is sworn sister
That this is not in vain
So why then do we refrain
From the truth that is murder
With rape that has it's way
On lands which will never sway
In beliefs or promise
That they will send our boys and girls
Straight back through this way

These are our future choices
Being thrown aflame.
