Death and Beauty

I saw your face
A time and place
Politely on the edge
I was enthralled
Then with a glimpse
Brown eyes blinked
And read you've seen it all
Up a stairway we'd ascend
Encircle beginning and our end
Parts of me knew that I've seen this all before
And as we lay there
Heart to heart
I pulled you back with quick remarks
Unfolded garments we used to dress my floor
Up a stairway we'd ascend
Encircle beginning and our end
Parts of me knew that I've seen this all before
These deeds it is said
Come straight from our head
Give glances of death and beauty
and with mock trials
We'll soon realize
That we are alive
Down a stairway we'd ascend
Encircle beginning and our end
Parts of me knew that I've seen this all before.
